Admittance and Services

Visiting hours: Monday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00. The $51 MXP fee includes the admission to the museum and the archaeological site. Children under 13, students, teachers and senior citizens presenting a valid ID do not pay. Free admission on Sunday. There is a $30 MXP fee if you are willing to shoot with a videocamera. Temporary exhibitions, checkroom, bookstore, guided tours, educational workshops, summer courses, student advisory, wheelchair facilities, cafeteria and craft shop.


The Palenque Archaeological Site Museum opened in 1994, in a contemporary building constructed to replace the one inaugurated in 1957. Palenque is one of the most important Maya cities due to the great amount of information left carved on stelae. The collection includes archaeological findings like limestone relieves, stucco sculpture, funerary pottery and pieces of greenstone. There is a hall dedicated to the archeological research in the zone.
